Heidi Stauffer is a science and math teacher at Lydian Academy, a small private middle and
high school in Menlo Park, CA. She co-manages the science lab for the school and is the lead
for the science professional learning community. She holds a PhD in Earth Science, specializing
in climate modeling from UC Santa Cruz in 2017, and she holds an M.S. in Geology from San
Jose State University, and a B.S. in Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has
worked as an environmental geologist, a natural hazard disclosure consultant, and a science
educator. She has years of teaching and STEM outreach experience, mostly at the college
level, but also in informal education and museum education.
